49 volunteers assembled at Bona Vista Park on Sunday the 4th March. Kevin O’Connor the organiser, gave a briefing. Then the teams were dispatched to various locations in the Town area.
A Hughe variety of rubbish was picked up by the volunteers, ranging from car doors, Tyers, mattresses, and carpet which had been dumped by tosses around our town.
The team also spent Saturday morning cleaning up under Friendship Bridge, again a huge collection of rubbish was picked up.
The team came back to the Bona Vista park for a well earned BBQ.
A big thanks to everyone who helped on the day. We picked up over 40 cubic meters of rubbish.
